Sales activity in VC01N

Dear SD Gurus,

I am trying to understand the concept of Sales activity creation in VC01N.

I understand when ever business wants  one person should  be responsible for given activities.

But How sap traces all this data I mean to say how business will find this customer will responsible for certain activities,and please let me know configuration point of view as well.

I have checked in google but related information not found.
