AS2 adapter and File adapter

Hi,

To handle EDI documents we can either use File adapter or AS2 adapter, here I want to know what will be differences if we use AS2 and if we use File adapter. Tracking the status and dealing with functional acknowledgement will all be same if we use File adapter instead of AS2. and want to know in what cases we go for File adapter instead of AS2 adapter.

Hi Vijay,

In my experience we opt for the AS2 adapter when our partners have that capability but some do not and in those cases we have to go with either File or SFTP depending on what they can support from their end.

What will be differences if we FILE Adapter and if we use AS2 Adpater?

Both will work in the same way?

AS2 will have added capability to request MDN - Message Disposition Notification and if you want to send signed document/encryption options are avail will support various algorithm.

Most of the vendors prefer AS2 due to secure way of sharing data.
