Issue while configuring Component Based Message Alert

Hi Experts,

I tried configuring the CBMA using Michael's blog, but unfortunately its not working for me.

Message is failing but the alert is not coming to my mailbox, the Job status is in error.

1) Created Alert Rule in ID

2) Properties in Java System Properties

3) Job scheduler in Error status

I am not sure, what could be my mistake due to which the job is in error status.

Please advice to resolve this issue.

Thanks,

Nidhi Srivastava

Hi All,

The issue was resolved after doing few changes listed below -

1) Changing the localhost property, after getting the same from basis team.

2) Checking the log entry , found the error  as -

“javax.jms.JMSSecurityException: You do not have permissions: action alertingVP.queue and instance:name alertingVP.queue action browse instance jms/queue/xi/monitoring/alert/ALERT-TO-MAIL”

The error states authorization issue. Assigned the  role SAP_XI_ALERT_CONSUMER for the userid creating the alert.

Thanks,

Nidhi Srivastava

Hi Nidhi,

In point number 2, check the host name. It should be host name of the mail server which will be used to send email. To me this looks incorrect. Check with your basis team for this.

Additionally, in point number 3, MailTo should be the email id to whom you want to send the email and this should not be dummy email id.

In point number 3 again, there is log tab, check this as well for the complete error/status message.

Thanks,

Binod
