If you create a delivery in the background it takes the default storage location determined by shipping point/plant/storage condition (unless you have specified a storage location in the sales order of course).
If you need to take products from 2 separate storage locations this means you will need 2 separate items in the delivery. If you do not wish to use manual delivery creation and do not want to have 2 separate order items for the same material, you will need to go for a custom development. I have seen a process where certain customers can get also quarantine stock (sales between related parties), so it can be done from technical perspective.
Please consider also the following - in many companies there can be two different responsible persons for two storage locations in the same plant. In this case if each of them wishes to post goods movement and approve the transfer of responsibility separately-this cannot be achieved with a single delivery. In such case we ended up with two separate deliveries, because there was also a legal requirement that the person responsible for the products to sign the delivery documents and it was not possible to transfer the goods to a single storage location.
There must be a valid business reason why this company stores the same product used for sales in two separate storage locations. Please explain the idea behind and the current concept.
