ERROR OCCURED IN EXTRACTKRN_PRE While upgrading to NW2004s

Hi ,

I am in the process of upgrading to NW2004s form NW2004.

I am able to start UAServer now. And i am in the process of specifying the MOUNT DVDs from 1--24. I dont know what should be given there.

The Upgrade Assistant asks me to enter atleast one mount point for SAP Kernel DVD Unicode.

When i enter the path --<b>D:\Netweaver_04s_DVDs\51031620_11\DVD_NW_2004s_Kernel_Windows__LINUXX86</b> and proceed i am getting a error<b> SEVERE ERROR OCCURED IN EXTRACTKRN_PRE</b>

Pls help me in this

My system is Unicode Version

what errors you are getting when you start UAserver. there may be possibility that previosuly UAserver was not stopped properly.

mean you are not giving the proper kernel DVD input. please check the LABEL.ASC and confirm that you are giving the exact Kernel dvd label.

Try to upgrade your R3up tools.

could you please tell me from where you have download the above DVDs please give me the path.

also copy the content for LABEL.ASC from the DVD 51031620_11

This path was available in a shared folder in my company.

The follwoing are the contendts of lable.asc

which OS version/DB you are using and is it 32bit or 64 bit could you please clear this.

if it is windows 32 bit then try to use DVD

51032266_4 NW 2004s SR2 Kernel 7.00 Windows Server on IA32 32bit Upgr.

or serach 51032266* but you have to user upgrade DVD not the normal DVD.

I am using windows 2003 Server Service pack 1 and MS SQL Server Version 8.0

As u say that i have to use Upgrade DVD, I have the following Folder in my System.

D:\Netweaver_04s_DVDs\51031373_13\DVD_NW_2004s_Upgrade_Master

D:\Netweaver_04s_DVDs\51031373_2\DVD_NW_2004s_Upgrade_Master

D:\Netweaver_04s_DVDs\51031373_26\DVD_NW_2004s_Upgrade_Master

Please let me know whether these are upgrade DVDS

i do not have rights to see the DVDs for MS-SQL server but I can tell you the list of DVDs you have to use.

Read the upgrade document from service.sap.com/instguides --> SAP NetWeaver --> NetWeaver 2004s --> upgrade.

In the upgrade guide you can find Upgrade Step-by-Step

1) Upgrade Master Windows Server

2) Kernel 7.00 Wind. Server on IA32 32bit Upgr.

3) Database DVD

4) NW 2004s SR2 Upgrade Export 1 of 4

5) NW 2004s SR2 Language

6) NW 2004s SR2 Java Upgrade
