Hi All,

Could someone guide me on how to configure Custom Alerts in WEB UI? Is the definition of a Global Parameter mandatory for this definition? Please let me know.

Hello Aadvika

Have you already configured alerts in the excel?

You need to configure alerts in the excel. Once you have added alerts in the excel, they should show up in the Web UI.

  1. In the Alerts group in IBP ribbon, choose Add (while your Favorite is open)
  2. In the dialog box, choose a base calculation. The name of the base calculation is defaulted as the name of the alert. You can edit the name of the alert to differentiate between multiple alerts with the same base calculation. The name of the alert must be unique.
  3. Choose the Key Figure and the color Red that you want the key figure to be highlighted in the planning view. By highlighting the key figure in the planning view, you can easily see which numbers caused the exceptions. For the key figure to be highlighted in the planning view, you must choose a color, and your planning view must have EPM formatting.
  4. Click OK

The alert is triggered if the scenario raises an exception. The alert and number of exceptions for the planning view and scenario are shown on your alert dashboard in the IBP ribbon in Microsoft Excel and also on your home page in the IBP web client.

Thanks

Hi Praveen,

Thanks for the speedy response.

My question is that, when we define and subscribe for alerts using certain metrics, filters, time periods etc, we don't see the alert pop up in the web ui. Is it mandatory to define alerts in Excel UI as in writing a calculation for an alert KF and then configure the alerts in excel ui and then move on to Web UI defining the alerts and then subscribe to the in the same manner?

Please confirm.

Regards,

Aadvika

In this model config guide, you'll find by searching for "Alert" that there is a global parameter you can set (limits number of alerts that are displayed), but you dont need to

Plus, in the online help you'll find under http://help.sap.com/saphelp_ibp50/helpdata/en/f8/d4745450c0b924e10000000a4c4043/content.htm?frameset...

a description of how to use alerts in web ui

Hi Irmhid,

Thanks for the reference links.

Currently we are in IBP 4.0. Does the custom alerts application Web Ui differ in features from BP 5.0?

Please guide,

Aadvika

That would be

and

than.

I think the model config guide has not much changed between the versions in that regards, and in principle the way of working is more or less the same. But I cannot tell you the differences in WEB UI, sorry, you need to read yourself
