Bin Sectioning - SU Storage Type

Hello experts,

I have created Storage Unit Type - P putaway strategy .

Did config for storage type,section,Bin Type and Storage unit type config but didn't find the path for bin sectioning .

We need system to store 50 box i.e SU in one storage bin where in want to define.

Please somebody help me to find the path for bin sectioning.

Hi,

Please use OMM3 > Bin sections.

The congig path is under LE > WM > Strategies > Putaway strategies > Define Strategy for Pallets

Hi,

Looking at the configurations you can sotre up to 99 SU's in one storage bin.

If your only objective is to store 50 SU's in one bin then there are various possible options to you -

1. Pallet putaway (which you have already chosen)

2. Bulk Storage with block storage definition to accomodate 50 SU

3. Capacity check with neutral values for SUT

This all is basically driven by Business requirement/scenario for which you can select the best possible option.

I am using High rack storage type with next empty bin strategy.

Is this possible to store 50 Su's in one storage bin ?

If it is possible ,please explain how it will function.

Hi,

I think you can go for capacity check based on neutral values for SUT.

In the definition of SUT, make the capacity usage LET = 10 and, in the storage bin master data make the total capacity = 500 (10 X 50 = 500). This way you can put 50 boxes in the storage bin.

Allow addition to existing stock and mixed storage without limitations in your storage type definitions.

but, I presume it will work best if you putaway all 50 boxes in one go. If you are trying to put partial amount (lest say 25) then, system would not suggest the same bin for the remaining 25... it would suggest the next empty bin, which you can overwrite.

Please do a test in your system with this set up.

you started the thread with Putaway strategy P-SU storage type where you can store 50 SU or not   , now you shifted to L-Next empty bin where you can store 50 SU or not. As the strategy itself says Next empty bin what is your analysis is that going to help to store the second pallet in the same Bin

?

Get a clarity what actually is your requirement and then accordingly have a look on the standard SAP put away strategy as these are very basic question and discussed n number of time on SCN

Agree with your statement.

Actually i am looking for putaway strategy where i can store 50 SU in one bin for same material and same batch.

We are using high rack with next empty bin strategy where we store only one SU per bin.

Hence i was having doubt whether same strategy will work for this requirement.

I haven't work with pallet strategy but know that we can use it to store multiple SU in one bin.

That was only the reason i post it in same thread.
