Hi,

Both are having its own strengths!! )

But I suggest webDynpro Java

*In Short almost all Features supported in webdynpro ABAP are also Possible in webdynpro Java.

*Webdynpro Java Supports,

  • webservice

  • RFC Models

  • Accessing Portal information in Java

  • Easy sending E-mail

  • Strictly follows MVC architecture which seperate Business logic and Process flow.

  • Webdynpro Java is webbased programming model to develop SAP Applications.

  • Easy to learn

  • Easy to integrate in Enter prise portals.

  • Dynanamic Programming

*Easy access to R/3 Via RFC technology (Models)

Hope this helps and solve your Problem

Hi!

Almost all the arguments come true for WD4A also. So it's a question of skill background what technology to prefer. Furthermore for Java you need a complete Java Development Infrastructure. The ABAP stack brings it out-of-the-box.

I prefer ABAP.

Volker

I have "heard" that SAP will focus on its old strength and therefor I guess that

WD4A will be much more supported in the future then WD4J.

But it is just a rumour.

WebDynpro ABAP only. Its very easy to learn and use for abap develper. Because:

"my understanding:

1. Business logic is written by ABAP, and this will not changed in the furture.

but it could be in ABAP OO more and more;

2. Webdynpro(both ABAP and JAVA) are User Interface technology

3. from project implementation point of view, i prefer Webdynpor for ABAP,

because it's integrated into SE80 and the standard transportation, and

it's run in ABAP world , all the existing functions can be reused easily;

but for WDJ, you have to go through RFC, and according to my experience, it's quite unstable, also for performance it's not so good.

4. WDJ is good to customers with strong IT forces, they have their own development team, JAVA is more easy for them to learn and integrate sap with their existing system.

5. I believe WDA will become the standard development tools for sap delivered solutions.
