Hello experts

Can anyone please explain the concept of aggregated planning if we have products P1 , P2 and locations L1 , L2.

What is unique in its planning book creation ?

Hi KK

First you require to decide the product or location Hierarchy on which you want to plan at aggregate level. Please find below the link which will explain the master data step up for aggregate planning.

Master Data Setup for Hierarchical Planning - Supply Network Planning - SAP Library

You require to define this Hierarchy structure in Planning ares.

You also require to consider the aggregated KF in the planning book and Data view. You can also configure the KF at which level you want to see in Planning area.

I hope this information would be helpful to you.

Thanks

Hi KK,

Aggregated planning helps in cross location planning. Instead of product location level one can also do planning at aggregate level e.g. product family level and then have it disaggregated at product location level. It helps in performance improvement. This hierarchy does not come via CIF so needs to be created manually in SCM – product hierarchy and location hierarchy. Product- location hierarchy can be generated based on these two.

So, in your scenario we will have product hierarchy containing P1 and P2, location hierarchy containing L1 and L2 and product location hierarchy can be generated based on these two.

Please have a look at below document where product interchangeability concepts are explained along with planning book changes -

Hope it helps.
