Hi,

Transfer orders are created in warehouse managed scenarios where picking for a material takes place from a specific bin in a storage location. The steps involved are creation of transfer order through LT03 and confirming the TO through LT12.

Hi Azhar,

Transfer Order: is basically a document which is used to map the movement of material within a particular warehouse. TO has details about material, qty, source and target bins and warehouse no.

STO: is basiacally transferring material from from one plant to another plant when both plants belong to same company code.

Hi Azhar,

The Transfer Order(TO)is basically used in the warehouse Management(WM).

Look, when the goods are received into the intrem storage from say production, here a TO is created for moving the goods into the warehouse. This TO will educate the staff so as to keep the stock in the correct place in the warehouse,we take TO as confirmed when the stocks are in the correct place in the warehouse.

Coming to STO,you create a STO from MM route i.e.,ME21N and then enter the details of the supplying, receiving plant and the materials.Once you complete the STO,then it goes for a delivery followed by an intercompany invoice.

Remember that the Material should be there in BOTH supplying and receving plant.

Hope this might help you.

ASAK Azhar,

as per as i understood,

STO:

Transfer of goods from one location to another location,it may be between plants within the same company code or in different company code's plants.

within the company code,bet plants,

receiving plant will raise the STO in Supplying/issuing plant-ME21n,

Supplying plant will deliver the goods to receiving plants ,

then we need to pick n post the Goods Issue-VL02n,

nw when we can observe that the STO qtty will be added into receiving plant and reduced in Delievering plant,

<b>To do this, we need do prior customizatin in SPRO-IMG,</b>-material should be created in both plants( receiving & Supplying)

-maintaing the stock only in supplying plant

-create a dummy customer in supplying plant's sales area(if u have one sales area, create in tat comp code n sales area)

-assign this customer number to receiving plant's details along with the sales area,

-Assign the STO doc type(UB) to Supplying plant, along with checking rule

-ASsign the Del type (NL/NLCC) to Supplying n receiving plant.

where as, Transfer order TO,

stock will be transfered from one location to another location without goods movement,

like

between storage locations R bet plants,

eg: Stock transfer between storage loc's

Tcode: MB1B

enter movement type: 311

Plant & Storage location:

Continue,

enter material ,qtty & receiving storage location,

-n save,

observe stock overview-MB5B,

similarly,

change the movement type -301,

to transfer thestock between plants, without delivery

*Hope this clears Ur issue.
