Hello All,
We are facing backup issue in oracle 10g with AIX, we are unable to take online backup.
all parameters in initSID.sap are correct and not able to take backup in disk using brtools as well as via DB13.

BR0051I BRBACKUP 7.20 (1)
Could you apply patch for current BR*tools version with the latest available at SMP to check again ?You could refer SAP Note 1723121 - Corrections in BR*Tools 7.20 patch 24
or best would be to apply the latest for version 7.20.

Its perfect that you've used mentioned BR0651I BRTOOLS 7.20 (1),but my means is to patch the BRTOOLS with the latest available from SMP (Latest might be 42).
Kindly refer SAP Notes 1428529 - Corrections in BR*Tools Version 7.20

In your initSID.sap file try making the following changes:
compress = brtools
#compress_cmd
Comment the line containing compress_cmd as given above.

We are trying to take online with compress backup, as per your suggestion i tried above but error occur when # compress_cmd.
Error-
BR0051I BRBACKUP 7.20 (1)
BR0165E Parameter 'compress_cmd' is not set in /oracle/SID/102_64/dbs/initSID_disk.sap
i tried from both via brtools and using DB13, but no luck.

Hi Anita,
Offline backup is completed successfully but not able to take online backup.
after some analysis mount point in aix related like sapdata1-n, logs and archive are not mounted with option read read and cio, may this is the issue.
in note 948294 the mount point should be with option cio, but not sure beacuse take downtime to remount all.
After this only will sure whats the root cause for the same.
