Database instance installation

Hi

On trying to install the DB instance I get a window which reads

"Select the databse installation Method"

There are four options under that which reads

Standard Installation

Standard System Copy / Migration (R3 Load-Based)

System Copy / Migration using Reload for NonMCOD-Systems (R3Load Based)

System Copy / Oracle Backup / Restore

What are the differnce between the above options ?

If this is a fresh install, then you want the first one. If you are doing a copy from another system to create this one then you want the second option.

Standard Installation

- Fresh Install (you probably want this)

Standard System Copy / Migration (R3 Load-Based)

- If installing by copying from another system and using the SAP tools to do the DB migration

System Copy / Migration using Reload for NonMCOD-Systems (R3Load Based)

- You probably do not want this one.

System Copy / Oracle Backup / Restore

- If installing by copying from another system and using the DB tools to perform the DB restore.
