We are using Customized maker Program to Upload the Data for Hiring.
During the Upload the numbers has been skipped.
Now User wants to Changed the Number as External and wants to Try to Hire the persons for the Skipped Numbers.
Need your Help to Change the Number Range Interval .
PFB the Screen Shot.
We want Make 02 Number from internal to External .
Please Help me on this
Try the below steps:
1) In PA04, click on Change intervals & take a screenshot of the number ranges prior to executing the below steps, so that you have a record of the Current number for interval 02.
2) Then go back & click on the Change Status button. For interval 02, make the current number 0 and then click on Save.
3) Go back and click on the Change Intervals button. Activate the checkbox Ext. Save.
4) Hire the employees by externally entering the correct numbers.
5) In PA04, click on Change intervals. Deactivate the Ext checkbox. Save.
6) Then go back & click on Change Status. Enter the Current number of Interval 02 based on what it was in the screenshot from Step 1.Save.

In the screen shot above the current number is 323556..
Upto 323553 the Pernrs are Generated and we are able to Save the infotype records.
323554 and 323555 numbers are skipped and now the current number is 323556.
if the done the steps as suggested by you.. Can i give Manualy (External Number Range )323554 and can Hire the employee and Save the infotype Record..
Please Suggest.
Hi Sekhar,
Why you want to change INT to EXT , when SAP will buffer those skipped numbers.
Recommended to continue with EXT rather changing to Internal.
Not a good idea to play with Number ranges at this stage of project.

How could be the audit issue???
If you will complete the skipped no by the hiring process then skipped no of employee's joining date would be more than already hired employee's joining date.
Suppose 2 was skipped and 3's DOJ is 01.09.2015 then you would like add employee on that no on October so 2's DOJ is 25.10.2015..

Sankarsan
Dear Sekhar,
Adding to above steps, you have to maintain NUMKR feature (PE03) which is return value of number range code (PA04).

If payroll is not executed for all of those employees then delete those personnel numbers from system and maintain number ranges as external then try to rehire employees from number 2.Usually system does not allow us to change current number details when we maintain it as "Internal"
Make it as external - delete any of the numbers which is generated by system and then re hire with same personnel number if it works then you can go ahead with the same approach for rest of the numbers.
Meanwhile try to find out is there any other Program or Transaction is delivered(TSTC table to check all available transactions) by SAP to handle such cases.
Regards
Venkatesh
