Hi Experts,
I am sending a file to a third party who will receive the file in a encrypted format. So PI will do the encryption. I am just wondering in the receiver Communication Channel, when I configure the module for the PGPEncryption, I am wondering who will provide the information following:
1, Public key, the third party provide?
2. Private key,
3. Is the directory (keyRootPath) where public key and private key sit, on our site or the third party site?
Thank you very much for your help!
Hi,
Encryption :
If you are encrypting the file, then use public key to encrypt the file and that will be provided by the third party.
If you are using Encryption + Signing then you have to use your own private key + password for signing and partner's (Third party) public key for encrypting.
Decryption: If Third party is sending only encrypted file (by using your public key) then you have to use your own private key in communication channel to decrypt the file.
If the third party is sending encrypted file with signing (using your public key for encryption and their private key for signing) then we have to validate using third party public key and your own private key+password to decrypt the file.
Yes, both the keys should be stored in the same path (keyRootPath) will be on your site only. Contact Basis team for that. They can help you.

Thank you Ramkumar.
I read the blog already. But I am still not clear that both public and private key are stored in our site or the third party site? and both public and private key should be stored in the same directory, right?
Sorry my questions might sound silly, I am really new to the PGP encryption
Any gurus have any advice on this?
Really appreciate your input!
