How to install and configure SAPRouter 742

Hello Guys,

Due to we need to upgrade the OS of SAPRouter from windows server 2003 to windows server 2012, so we plan to install the latest SAPRouter 742 in the new OS Win 2012 server, after I download and extraced it and also create the new SAPRouter service , but cannot start the SAPRouter service, it appears the "error 1053: the service didn't respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion".

Anyone could tell me how to fix this issue ? or could you tell me how to install the new SAPRouter 742 in new OS Win 2012 ?

SAPRouter should be a service on Windows. Try starting the service from services.msc and if it fails check the Windows "Event Viewer" for details. If there is a change in the hostname / IP address then you might need to notify SAP about it. You might need to do the SNC based SAPRouter setup and configuration once again.

No, Java is not among the necessary software components to install saprouter.

Hello Michael,

Can you startup your saprouter manually ?

You can have a look at the service properties in order to have the command line.

Then open a CMD and fire up the command.

You might get some useful messages then .

I want to confirm if I need to apply the  SAProuter certificate from the SAP Trust Center again in the new Windows OS ?

why I cannot find the SAPRouter Installation Guide in SMP ?
