Business Objects connection to excel using JDBC

Because a jdbc connection can be created in the IDT and published it removes the need for command line access to the server to create a DSN . Does any one know how to set this up for jdbc i.e what jar file is needed , where does it need to be installed  and what does the connection string look like .

Hi,

JDBC connection is not supported with Excel data source in IDT.

Please see section "SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.1 Data Access" page number 20.

Download the "Please consult the file Semantic Layer Datasources" file and you will get the idea about supported drivers for each data source.
