Querry about BOM scenario in Sales order processing

Hi

I  have one scenario as below.

I have material-Bike Model. it has characteristics TW COLOUR, START,WHEEL, TYRE.

Material should be maintained with BOM. example Red colour, Button start, Mac wheel with disc break, MRF tyre.

When i create sales order, BOM should explode in sales order . Where shall i define combinations of characteristic values so that it should result in BOM .Is it necessary to create Sales BOM with those detials ?And when sales BOM is created . it should created MRP run which will create planned order for production order with copying those values from sales order.

Please guide with process ..how shall i go with this process.
