Hi,
I am working with a company who are using Business Objects 3.1 with Web Intelligence and Desktop Intelligence. They have a requirement now to use Crystal Reports 2008 to develop some reporting solutions and are concerned that they will not be able to publish the reports through Business Objects if they do not upgrade the Business Objects licencing to include Crystal.
Please can someone confirm that if they purchase a Crystal Reports Developer Licence, the reports that are produced using this licence will be able to be stored, scheduled and viewed from Business Objects without the need to further upgrade the Business Objects suite.
Thanks in advance
Do they have Professional or Premium licenses? If they're Professional then they're for Webi and/or Deski only and you won't be able to run Crystal reports in the system. If they're Premium then Crystal won't be an issue. You can find out what type of licenses they are by going to the License Keys section of the CMC.
I agree with Abhilash, though. 3.1 goes out of support at the end of the year. So, it's time to start looking at upgrading to 4.1.

Hi Lloyd,
Yes, reports they develop using CR 2008 can be stored, scheduled, viewed on the XI 3.1 platform.
XI 3.1 in nearing end of life so you should probably remind them it's time to upgrade to BI 4.1 + CR 2013 anyway.
