Alternative Code for Item Master

Hello B1s

A customer needs to use 2 codes for the same item master data.

and the both code can be used in the search for the item in the marketing documents.

How can I meet this requirement??

Hi Saad

Can you tell me it is for internal or Customer Purpose.

If it is customer purpose you can use BP Catelog Number in Item Master Data.

If it is Internal Use Create one UDF in Item Master data and select the UDF field under Form Settings.

Hi Balaji

It is for internal purpose, the customer uses more than one application and they uses two codes for the same master record and needs to use the same two codes while using B1.

Could you please explain for me the steps for the UDF?

Hi Saad

Go to => Tools => Customization Tools => User Defined Management

Add UDF under Master Data => Item => Items

After adding go to Marketing Document => In Item Selection Window => Click form Settings and select the UDF you created already.

Hi Saad,

Or you can use Additional Identifier which is a standard SAP field if you do want to create a new UDF. And Balaji has already explained you how to search.
