Hi,

You can split your demand( planned Independent requirements) using Location and Product split when releasing to SNP.

In location split, when releasing demand from DP to SNP, if the demand is not specified as per location, the demand is split as per the location split profile.

You could also specify version and valid from dates.

Eg: You have a demand of 500 PCs at plant P for product PROD. Its being released without reference to locations. You secify in your Location split that product PROD, for D1 0.6 and D2 as 0.4.

The demand as your see in SNP automatically is splitup over the locations D1 and D2 as 300 and 200 respectively.

Product Split: This is a way of Interchangeability. You can split the demand of a product as per product as per time or replace one product with other.

Eg: Location Loc1 has product P1 has product P1.

You can specify in your profile saying that

AT Loc1, source product P1 pla. version 000 from 01/01/2007 for 12 periods, in months, terget product could be P2 for a proportion of 1.

What happens is for the next 12 months, P1 is replaces P2 completely (proportion1).

If you want the split not to be location specific, leave the location field empty. You can specify various proportions also.

Hope this
