Data sources for Advanced Analysis for Excel

Hi there,

I know SAP Advanced analysis for Excel can connect to BW data Sources like Queries which are OLAP sources.

But can it also connect to ORACLE/SQL Server data sources. Is there a work around to do connect to these sources from Analysis for Excel or Analysis for OLAP (Web version)?

Please advise.

No, Analysis for Office only connects to BW or HANA

For other data sources, look at using Live Office

Is it possible to use BOBJ Data Services and convert the Oracle data into Star Schema and then build OLAP sources from there. Would Advanced Analysis for Excel then consume such OLAP source OR Is it Not possible other than BW and HANA. I am not sure if I am saying it right 🙂

Hi Suman - I don't have any personal experience with that; perhaps it is something you can try.  But I don't think such a scenario is supported by SAP...
