how to make a material be able to explode 2 bom at same time

Hello,

My scenario is, we have 2 finished goods A and B, they all are using same semi-finished goods S1, but this S1 has 2 versions of bom, one is component R1, and another is component R2. now how to let now A it extract raw material R1, and B extract R2. I tried explosion number, but it doesn't work.

Hi,

You provided two options of BOM to the System for making S1. Selection is been made based on either Order Qty, Order Date or Production Version.

In MRP 4 View a field called BOM Selection Method controls this functionality.

Select BOM based on Parent material number is not possible in case of normal item. Only KMAT material type can full-fill your requirement.

Hello,

It is not possible with standard BOm scenario... You have to Variant Configuration. Instead of Making two BOM for S1, you make 200% BOM by adding both then items in same BOM . Then based on Characterisitc of A , it would select R1 material & Similarly for B would R2

This is confirgurable BOM scenario. Many things to do activate , Class < characterisitc , Object dependency etc,
