IBP S&OP Time Streams
In regards to the creation of time streams for IBP S&OP planning areas does anybody have good tips or tricks to create and update these in a smarter way than via a text file with the structure defined? It works but it does not seem to be a very robust and flexible way of maintaining a system a state of the art system?

Hi Peter you have to use a file. But you can make it quite simple: - The time profile itself is just for display, plus it frames the maximum time horizon you can load the file, so you can have the horizon in the top with a very long end date, e.g. 31.12.2035. This has no impact on sizing and performance, it will just make sure you don't need to change it every year - just don't ever touch again - In the planning area itself, time horizon settings with + / - x years and month etc. frames what can maximum be loaded into the key figures, not into the time profile. - Create one big master file, that has all the horizon for the next many years, e.g. until 2035 as well, and make sure that file is within the horizon of the time profile. Now you can load it, even if the planning area itself has a smaller horizon. - With that, you still cannot maintain key figure data out of the horizon given in the planning area, it just makes sure you load the time profile once and for all. Works pretty easy if you have only month, quarter and year More effort if you have weeks as it is just some work to prepare in the file. Yours Irmi
