Hi,
The retail/POS data load--> to POS DM ---> to BW cubes.
POS DM is part of the BI Content. So you'll have to import BI Content 3.5.3 to get POS DM functionality. Core transactions are /POSDW/MON0 for the POS Workbench and /POSDW/IMG for customizing. You can use the standard POS Inbound IDOCs (WPUUMS, WPUTAB, WPUBON, WPUWBW, WPUFIB) or (and that's the recommended way) BAPI /POSDW/BAPI_POSTR_CREATE.
After you put the data into the PIPE (pos inbound processing engine) via BAPI (XI), there is nothing else like customizing to distribute these to either the infocubes or something else.So I will give you a basic idea of the steps needed to transfer the data into the cubes.
Go to TN /POSDW/IMG (/n/POSDW/IMG).
There you build your own customizing profil, potentially Z001.
Then you go to the "POS Transactions" and lateron onto "Type Group for POS Transactions". Copy any type you need from the standard profil of the sap.
The same thing you do with the "Category for POS Transactions". Take care of the entry "Incl./Excl. Task Grp", this is where you link your specific data to a taskgroup. There are tasks linked to any taskgroup, for instance the one you need to feed the cubes. ("Supply BW Immediately, Non-Aggre., w. Distribution")
Naturally you have to customize the taskgroup and the tasks as well as the transaction categories and lateron the connection between the tasks and the taskgroup in "Tasks for Taskgroup". (should be copy action too)
If you set up the "Type of Task" to "Immediate Processing", then the data will be processed into the deltasource in the moment there are reaching the pipe.
All you have to do then is to connect the deltasource to the cubes in TN RSA1.
There is a Blogg with regard to this inquiry in which way sap pos dm is provided with data.

Thank you for your quick response.
But these documents are not helping me to know the practical concept of POSDM.
I need to connect SAP PI to POSDM and I need to know what is happening in POSDM (PIPE).
How to configure and do the necessary settings in PIPE.
If you have any documents kindly share me and below is my email ID : rockiyrajesh@gmail.com.
Hi,

Rajesh,
POSDM is an Add-on component of BI 7.0.
POSDM is very useful in Retail industries.
Yes..You can implement POSDM with ECC 6.0 & POS.
There will be 2 types of Scenarios in IS Retail,BI & POS integration.
1) ECC Outbound : Master data will flow from IS retail to POS ...like Assortment list, Bonus Buys,Promotions, merchendise Hirarchy.
2) All the Sales & Payment data coming from POS will be uploaded in POSDM ...In POSDM there will be Different tasks for sending data to IS Retail & BI.
POSDM will show aggregated sales , Payments data ..also Promotion and Bonus Buys...
If you are using SAP POS...then Standard XI Contents are available for the Integration.
But For 3rd party POS ..you need to develop all the XI interfaces for Integration.
Hi,
Could you please send me the
1. Implementation guide for POSDM,
2. Integration Overview for POSDM
Like how to configure POSDM with BI means how to transfer data from Tlog tables to Standard data sources in SAP BI.
Have you did anything practically related to this?
Kindly share some documents related to POSDM if you have?
Hi,
Rajesh, Didnt do Pratically,But i Heard..
But i m trying to help u out.......
The structure of this page is shown in the graphic below.
The graphical overview helps you to navigate through the whole implementation process.
You have:
The POS Integration scenario is designed for intra-company use. Depending on your system landscape (for example, your SAP ERP system is located in your head office, your POS system is located in your store), the data exchange between your SAP ERP system and your POS system may be done through an open public network (for example, Internet).
If an open public network is used then you have to consider security aspects. Usually the communication protocol ensures security (for example, you have to use a common procedure in a computer center). For more information, see Security Concept and http://service.sap.com/security.
The following graphic presents the high-level architecture of the integration scenario to enable an overall understanding of the implementation steps.
For further background information, see the Integration Overview for the integration scenario POS Integration.
The following configuration steps must be performed:
SAP ERP Setup:
SAP NetWeaver BI system:
SAP Enterprise POS setup:
Consider the activities mentioned in chapter 2 (operation) under 'regularly planned batch reports', 'process monitoring' and 'regular housekeeping reports' and include them in your existing IT operations concept where all other regular activities are scheduled. Include the batch jobs in the respective job scheduling.
After having completed all previous steps it is important to test the whole scenario. Therefore you shall include both an SAP ERP system and a POS system in your test landscape. Execute the steps described below under chapter 2 (operation) in your test landscape and use this integration test to ensure that all settings and installations lead you through the process with the expected results.
Within the SAP ERP system there is a menu 'Enterprise Services' containing all programs needed for data exchange within the integration scenario 'POS Integration'. This menu can be reached as follows: SAP Menu -> Logistics -> Retailing -> Distributed Retailing-> Enterprise Services.
The following sections are about how to execute your operational business. Before performing the following the customizing settings described above must be maintained at first. To run the integration scenario the following steps must be performed:
Within your SAP ERP system the following steps must be performed
Within your POS system the following steps must be performed:
After the provision of master data and strategic sales / transactional data the operational procedure starts with any POS transaction occurred in your POS system (for example, sale of items) or any update of master data or strategic sales / transactional data send from the SAP ERP system to the POS system (for example, promotion of certain merchandise or changes in prices of articles).
Within your SAP ERP system the following programs should be scheduled (or started manually)
For your POS system the following program should be scheduled
For further information, see the execution instruction of your POS system
Within your SAP ERP system the following programs can be executed manually.
Notes on how to use the free selection filter:
In combination with check box:
Within your SAP XI/PI system monitoring can be done as follows:
Within your SAP ERP system additional monitoring can be done as follows
For monitoring in your POS system, note the execution instructions for the POS system.
Obviously, housekeeping depends on the system:

Rajesh,
Below are the T-Code used in POSDM.
/POSDW/IMG - POSDM Setting IMG
/POSDW/SETTINGS - Enhancement implementation to the BADI
POSDW/CONDITION - To enhance the rule for the
/POSDW/OUT_BW - Enhancement to the data supply to BW
POSDW/BW_RETAIL_CONTROL - Append structure to the 0RT_PA_TRAN_CONTROL
/N/POSDW/TSCH - Transaction status change
/N/POSDW/PDIS - Run Pipe dispatcher
/N/POSDW/DELE - Delete pos transaction
Using above t codes you can configure the POSDM with BI.
Rajesh..Reward me ..if i m helped u
Actually I am new to this POSDM concept and I am just started learning this from past 2 weeks.
I have analysed a lot and I have some basic idea of the data flow from POS system to POSDM and then to SAP BI.
So if you have some documents or procedures of the data flow from SAP PI to SAP POSDM kindly share with me.
1. What are all the standard IDOC's for POSDM?
2. How IDOC's are connected with PIPE Tlog tables?
3. How to send data from Tlog tables to the standard data sources like 0RT_PA_TRAN_TOTAL etc.
4. As of now I know that data will be stored in Tlog, then what is the PIPE structure shown below is related with Data Source.
Kindly help me out as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Rajesh,
take help of POSDM consultant to do the initial configuration, because there are lot many things(tender types, financial type, GL account mapping etc etc) need to customize as per business requirement.
you can go to "retail" space for more information on PODSM. when you start pulling the sales /TRN files to BW, and if you are stuck at some point, then you can seek help here .
