Transportation zone determination

Hi,

We base freight upon a transportation zone/shipping point/currency combination and for that I needed to created a new transportation zone "A".

I expected that I needed to update the customer masterdata as well, but during testing the transportation zone and related freight charges were determined anyway.

So, the outcome is ok (I need transportation zone A), but the question is how is the transportation zone determined if nothing is entered in a CMIR or in the customer masterdata.

  • I checked for Customer material info records, but none are available.
  • Both sold-to an ship-to contain no transportation zone.
  • When adding a random transportation zone (B/C or D) in the customer, the related freight is determined (as expected)

Many thanks forĀ  your assistance.

Do you also get a route determined automatically in the outbound delivery without maintaining any master data?

Or you get some transportation zone unexpectedly populated in the shipment costing process only?

Please show some screenshot where you see this zone determined without having it in the master data.

Do you have by any chance any custom formulas in the pricing procedure?

Some companies rely heavily on user exits in shipment costing/transportation processing - have you already eliminated this possibility?
