Pre Export error during MS SQL Server 2012 to Sybase ASE Migration

Hi All,

Greetings. We are trying to perform migration of SAP ECC 6.6 (Unicode) on MS SQL Server 2012 to Sybase ASE using SWPM 1.0. During the source system preparation, we are getting this error

Error: Read for db_get_avg_bloblen failed

(DBSL rc = 103)

Invalid Object name 'STPSQL_USER'

Error: add_fld: db_get_avg_bloblen failed for table STPSQL_USER

(We are using 721 Ext Unicode Kernel 610 on the source system with R3szchk patch 611)

Strangely, we have a copy of this system in SQL Server 2008 R2 which is non-Unicode, and the export is happening without any issues.

Any tips / suggestions are highly appreciated.

Thanks and Regards

Madhav

Hello,

Source system is the MS Sql Server, therefore this looks like a Sql Server DBSL error, not an ASE DBSL error, is my assumption correct?

Hi Cris,

Yes your assumption is correct.

Our Source System Details are

Windows 2008 R2

SQL Server 2008 R2

ECC 6.06 (Unicode)

SAP Kernel --> 721 - 610

We are just attempting a pre-export run using SWPM 1.0. However this works fine with SQL 2008 R2 system.

Thanks and Regards

Hi Cris,

Sorry the source system DB is SQL Server 2012 and not SQL Server 2008 as mentioned above.

Thanks and Regards

Hello,

Thanks to confirm. I think that in that case, we could ask for some help to SAP on SQL Server folks, in space , so I'm moving your thread there.

Cris

Hi Madhav

Could you share the full log? If possible just do the full system restart and then try again in the same phase.
