Design-time query not available (WIS 00000)-After upgrade of BW systems

Hello Experts,

We are getting below error while trying to create webi or crystal reports from  SAP BW backend.

Design-time query not available (WIS 00000)

Our BW systems are upgraded to SAP BW 7.3 SP 12 recently and queries which were working before upgrade also giving this error now. We are in SAP BI 4.1 SP 05.

Please let me know if we need to implement any specific note or setting in SAP BW side to avoid this error message. I referred SAP Note: 1940100 which mentions about supported BW versions for this performance improvement option.

Minimum and Recommended BW versions

Ensure that your BW server meets the following requirements:

BW 7.30 SP8 or BW 7.31 SP5+, plus all the SAP notes listed below.

OR

BW 7.30 SP10, 7.31 SP08 and 7.40 SP05

Does it mean our current version is not supporting this? What will be the impact if we try below workaround mentioned in same note?

Workaround:

Adding the below parameter to the Adaptive Processing Server(s) that have the DSL Bridge service will disable the Design Time Services

functionality in the BICs driver. This should revert the behavior back to the BI 4.0 behaviour for View (Web) mode and Modify (RIA) mode. In BI 4.0,

the Design Time Service was not utilized and Webi retrieved the metadata for the query definition in other ways.

-Dsap.sl.bics.useDesignTimeServices=false

Request your valuable feedback on this.

thanks in advance.

Regards,

Nikhil Joy

Nikhil,

This is know issues, you need to add this parameter to the DSL Bridge Server in order to work with Design at RunTime Queries.

Hi Ajay,

thanks for your reply.

As far as I know, this is a performance improvement mechanism available in BI 4.1. Adding parameters to DSL bridge will make it work like BI 4.0.

What is the impact of this work around? is it recommended?

Could you please clarify?
