Only allow a single delivery for a 2 step STO

Hi,

We use 2 step STOs and want to limit the system so that only one delivery can be created against an STO.  The limitation is required due to an interface we have to OTM (Oracle Transportation management).

We have tried to enforce a business rule telling shipping not to do this but that has had limited success.  An example is they start staging a truck on Monday and create a delivery.  Then on Wednesday when they actually load the truck they may do another delivery for items that were out of stock on Monday but have been received between Monday and Wednesday.

I have looked into delivery tolerance but that doesn't work in our case since multiple deliveries would be created before a GR has been performed.

Thanks

Dennis

And what is your plan with all those items that had no stock on Monday?

do you want to cancel all those items in the purchase order and create a new STO for them?

Yes that is the intention. To delete any undelivered item on the original STO and create a new STO including those items if they are still needed.

Thanks

Wouldn't it be much better then to educate your buyers to only put one item into a STO and  restricting the STO creation to 1 item using a BADI?

This will at least reduce the double work (communicate, cancellation, recreation)
