Dear colleagues,
I have recently updated SAP GUI to 740 patch level 5. After that system started issuing “Invalid GUI input data: ST_USER_MAX_WSIZE wrong data” message if I try to use search help at any transaction.
Has anyone encountered this problem?
Melih
Dear Melih,
This issue is addressed in SAP note 2229515 (Invalid GUI data in SAPGUI).
I hope this helps,
Cris

Solution
As a workaround the following supportbit can be turned off: MAX_WSIZE.
Start SAP GUI with a command line parameter "/SUPPORTBIT_OFF=MAX_WSIZE".
Setting the parameter can be done in SAP Logon via:
- Options
- Folder "SAP Logon Options"
- General
- Field: Additional Command Line Arguments
- Values: "/SUPPORTBIT_OFF=MAX_WSIZE".

I have the same problem, and this version to SAP GUI to 740 patch level 5, but I make a update to SAP GUI to 740 patch level 7, and the problem is gone.
