I'm having the same issue here with my current project. This is actually due to locale setting issue if you use dot (.) as thousand separator. The best option for now is to use comma (,) as thousand separator if you are on v1.4. There is a bug in the OLAP connection language setting. I think this should be fixed in v1.5 sp01.

I think the dot is the interpreted as the start of decimal. So if you must use dot instead of comma, what you can do is to use quotation marks to force point to display.
So you can put the following in the tooltip format:
###"."###"."###"."##0
However, you need to be aware that when the number is not big enough. The following issue will occur.
