Hi folks,

Has anyone updated the ST component from 11 to 13 version?

How much is the effort to execute this procedure?

thanks a lot

Hello Marillia,

As everybody already mentioned, you can't do the update for ST itself but rather need to patch the whole solution manager system itself.

Effort varies based upon the no. of scenarios you are using etc like ChaRM ITSM Tech Mon etc. as you need to perform or do adjust of solman_setup and adjust/test live areas.

can check below thread

upgrade Solman 7.1 SP04 to SP13 | SCN

Hope this helps.

Thanks

Hello,

You cannot upgrade the ST component on its own. You have to implement the whole Solution Manager stack.

For this, you have to  create a stack XML, download the files, and perform the update with SUM. After this, you should perform the post-upgrade activities (running SOLMAN_SETUP again, etc)

Hi Marilia,

ST component is main component version in SAP Solution Manager.

So you are planning to upgrade  SP11 to SP13 in solman system . Normally it will take 2 - 3 days.

Using SUM tool will start the upgrade( Please check the SUM guide for more info), after upgrade sgen and post configuration steps( Solman_setup) needs to take care.if your using BPMon then MAI is introduced from SP12. please check the migration guide for the same.
