We have created some reports that provide our sales reps a view of their activity and notes in one simple report. That is the easy part. What we would like to do is to have the report filter down or be limited to the sales reps activities. Right now the report shows all of our sales reps for everyone to see.
We use this as an activity log. It has their appointments, calls, tasks and emails on this report. We have added the notes from each of them so they have one place to look for what they have done for the day or week. It has proven to be a good management tool.
The perfect solution would be that when a sales rep logs in and runs the report they only see their activity.
I checked business roles, there are no access restrictions available for Reports.
Now I have an answer thanks to Mahesh Holenarasipura at SAP.
First set the Roles and Access to give you want you want in the system. For us that means the role access control for the activities is set to unrestricted read and restricted write. That allows our team to see all the activities at the customer location. It will only allow them to change those that are theirs or they are involved in.
These settings do not work for the report. However, by creating the report in the Business Analytics and setting the employee selection to a relative select we can accomplish our reporting needs as well. One report for everyone, and it works perfect.
