Hello Experts,
My client wants to use PM for their welding work shop. This welding shop consists of apxt 10 welding machines. They want to track use of these machines to track the acutal cost for each machine.
We have been looking at representing each machine as a work center with an activity type for machine usage and one for man hours. Other option is to have the work shop as a work center and then represent each machine with a seperate activity type in the same work center.
What are the pros and cons with each solution and are there other ways to model this that is better?

Hi Gunnar,
Both ways are correct.Use standard SAP PM process to implement your scenario. Many Threads available in SCN.
1.Create workshop as a Plant
2. Create Planner group ,if required
3.Create work centers with proper cost center
4.Create welding M/C as a equipment with cost center
5.Create task list etc
After this when you are going to create any work orders, then you will capture labour, component cost with respect to costcenters.

Vivek
