Crystal Reports is a generic software package that is used as the reporting package for  thousands of ERP packages.   It works with a number of different databases in all kinds of industries and applications.

So,  although there are places where you can download example crystal reports that work with very specfic combinations of front end applicaions  and backend databases, you will need to be much more specfic.

Even then,  everybody's needs and implementations of even very industry specfic applications are different in the way they were setup and implemented, so a report that was designed for one companies needs may not work at all for a differnt company even if they are direct competitors.

It's like asking for a universal excel spreadsheet or a series of spample word doc's.

If you post your specfic needs and what applications  then maybe someone can point you to a resource.

Thank you Ted for taking time to write a comprehensive response. Much appreciated!!

I am new to all this. We want Crystal reports for our SAP B1 9.1 application running on a SQL 2014 engine.

We want some basic generic stuff like customer ageing, vendor ageing etc. nothing industry specific.

Please help.

There is really no such thing as a generic crystal report,     even for something as universal as an AR aging report ( which can actually get quite complex ) .  as  I tried to say above,  everybody's chart of accounts is different in the details    ( and the details are what's important in crystal).

The best way to start is get your accounting dept to show you an example of the printed versions of what they are currently using and then use that as the basis for the "Look" of the new design.   start at the detail level and get the report to show the line level detail  and then work outward   adding grouping and sorting and formulas as you build and refine the report.   You'll know you are on the right track when you duplicate the data that the current system produces.

Make sure you have a good understanding of the relationship between the various tables and how the data gets inputted and stored.   ( not all data is stored,  lots of it is calculated each time at all the levels from just the basic lowest level info.     For example,  Totals of things are rarely stored.   )

You might want to start with something simle like a list of vendors  or  a list of accounts,  or a report of Yesterday's sales ,   before you do something more complex like an ageing report.

(     .....   and be sure to take advantage of the SAP Training in Crystal that can be found elsewher on this site if youu are just starting out. )
