use of "assignment details" tab in RRI

I am not able to understand the use of Assignment details tab in the T code RSBBS while creating RRI. Can u please help me.

Hi Sofie,

when you need to drill down data from a header level report  to item level report, you goto assignment details tab in order to choose selection of common info-objects(characteristics) between two reports with the processing type as variable.

ex:  for a document number (XYZ) sales in header report1 , you can jump to report2 to view XYZ item  sales using the variable  created on  info-object (document number ) .

Psnote: the same variable is used in both  report1 and report2.
