Can we have APD with file as source and destination

Hi all,

I have one file coming into bw server, and I need to transform and again send the data as file to bw server.

Please guide me how to achieve this.

Hi,

yes, this can be achieved, you can try below steps.

• choose PC as source , give the path from AL11 , then use transformation if you have any thing to compute the data,
• choose PC as target, if you choose application server (AL11) , then file will be written to default folder only,
• but if you want the file to be send to a specific path ,then you can create a Logical file from t.code :FILE and then use the same path in APD target PC.

I am getting the below error while doing this.

Error:

Info Object not found. The column names in the first row of the file need to be info object names

IS there any seperator formats required for the source and destination pc's?

Hi,

you source file should have header ( exact info object technical name). only then you will be able to read the file.

It' s working and I have also changed the seperator to ',' and '|'.
