Inspection before delivery

Dear Experts,

I need help to solve the new business requirement from my client.

The final product after clearing the final inspection(inspection type 04) goes to location say 'ABCD'. In ABCD few special characteristics are again checked. Then after clearance delivery is created and shipped. Now business wants to create a new inspection lot as soon as product comes to location ABCD. There will not be any stock posting, only character recording. Now they want to put a check that unless the lot is cleared a delivery should not be created(final product is serial number managed).

How can I achieve this scenario? What should be the inspection type ?

If I want to create inspection lot at delivery creation then which inspection type should I use , 02 or 08 ? And unless the lot is cleared PGI should not happen.

Hi,

Please use Inspection Type 12 for General Inspection.

and Inspection Lot will be get generated after saving the delivery note and that will change status of your serial number which will restrict PGI without result recording.

Also it is necessary to have serial number processing check in inspection type in quality view of material master. If this check is not available then lot will be generated without serial number.

Hi Rajib,

I may give you some rough idea so try to figure it out.

We can achieve such scenario with the help of Inp. Type-11 (for delivery to cust. (w/o order)) activate it.

Some customization is required which are as follows:

Step 1: QCC0 → Quality Management → Quality Inspection → Inspection Lot

            Creation → Inspection at Shipping → Assign Inspection Lot Origin to

            Delivery Type. ( Put these values here: DlvTy->LO, Origin->11)

Step 2: QCC0 → Quality Management → Quality Inspection → Inspection Lot

            Creation → Inspection at Shipping → Assign Inspection Type to

            Delivery Category. ( Put these values here: Origin->11, Insp. Type->11)

Step 3: Logistics → Quality Management → Quality Planning → Logistics

            Master Data → Quality Info Record: SD → Create (QV51)

            Here in customer info record, change in Quality info record-> Before delivery

While creating Delivery note, put Delivery Type LO.

Your would see the  Inspection lot after saving your delivery note.

Finally do the RR and make UD.
