Bill of material change component issue

Dear Experts,

We are facing issue in BOM change with change number.

We replaced A,B,C with X,Y,Z in the BOM with a change number with valid

from date in 2016.

But the system showing the requirement of X,Y,Z in current date,

that is in 2015.

Also it is showing the requirement of A,B,C also.

We need only A,B,C requirment only which is present in the current BOM

and not X,Y,Z which is valid from 2016.

We noticed that, two change numbers with same valid from date, used to change  X,Y,Z

with INN and IND status.

Please explain, how to remove the requirement of X,Y,Z from the system.

Hello,

You can do this simply with one change number,

In CC01 create the change number with valid from date in 2016

In CS02 change the BOM use the change number created  and delete items

A,B,C  and add items X,Y,Z in the BOM.

Then go to CS03 and check them item details you will get ABC valid yup to 2016 and from 2016 XYZ will be valid.

You can also test by create two production one with current date and another in 2016 and check the components details.

For we added XYZ valid from date on 2016 only.

But still showing the requirements in 2015. the change numbers with INN & IND status.

How to block the XYZ requirements now? Please explain.

Dear Suresh,

Please put the validity date as 31.12.2099 for that ECN Number which is having XYZ components then release the Global key for that ECN..

if it gets impact for both ABC and XYZ in that situation let it the validity as 31.12.2099 then create new ECN with correct ABC Components by keeping the validity as todays then release that new ECN

Thanks for the clarification. I created 2 change numbers for XYZ with same valid from date.

So do i need to change the validity for both the change numbers ( one change number with INN status and another one with IND status).

I am unable to read your screen shots..

The functionality I'll explain to you i.e. By mistake you have created and released the ECN which is having XYZ which is the replacement of ABC

But now system is considering the both ECN Numbers for generating the requirement

so please analyse based on valid from date and put the validity of XYZ ECN as a future date then rerun the MRP
