Purpose of User groups in SAP

Hi all,

We have almost 90 users in our production environment. Before deploying in PRODUCTION SERVER, i have created user groups for all department and classified all the users in respective department in QUALITY SERVER.

Apart from User classification, what is the major benefit of User group in SAP?

Any one please help me in this. I have searched a lot about this , but only user classification only i found out through the results.

You can do mass changes to users based on the user group selection.
