Changing EORD

Dear gurus,

in order to change source lists by program, we are thinking of changing EORD.

Infortunatelly, there does not seem to be a function block to do so, so we are thinking of modfying the table directly.

We know it is generally not a good idea to do this with standard tables, but we do not see another option and could not find any dependent tables yet. Has anyone ever done this or does anyone know of dependencies concerning that table?

It is an worst decision. It will create lots of inconsistent and you may not face any problem for now, but you will face problem later.

No-one can't say how much internal tables are related to table EORD. When we update anything from transaction or function module, system updates all internal tables also. But if you update any table from direct table edit, then system can't update these internal tables.

For your optimistic, SAP is removing this direct editing option, read this OSS note 1420281 - CO-OM tools: SE16N: Deactivating &SAP_EDIT

I do not know why, for I have searched the topic half a dozen times myself, but now I found and finally understood this article:
