Hi all,
I am trying to take my Windows sever 2003 system backup which includes all folders .i.e, "C","D", "system state" etc.
Is stopping of SAP is necessary for taking system backup ?
This is the first time i am taking my system backup. That's why am asking this.

Just online backing up including database datafile directories make no sense, you'd better exclude these.
Do not need to close SAP application for application-idle hours.

SAP System can online while during Full system backup,But my personal experience backup is bit slow when SAP Application server is online compared to offline backup.
