Hi
Our HANA DB is set to use UTC time zone, i know by editing .sapenv.sh & sapenv.csh files in the $HOME directory, i can reset the time zone to Eastern Time. I am confused with 'America/New York' and 'EST5EDT' timezones. If i choose 'America/New York' as my time zone, does my HANA application recognizes the time change and sets it automatically ? What is EST5EDT ?
Thanks
Arun
Hi Arun,
The difference between these timezone is explained in the link below:
In my opinion, the time within DB and AP should be same (without large time gap)

Hi Ning, i did do a good search on the web before i posted on SAP forums. i encountered the same url you posted here. I wasn't confident with it and was expecting a better solution from SAP to answer it. Either SAP wasn't sure what happens when we have America/New York as the timezone in the application when time changes.
Thanks
