BO Enterprise User accessing BW-BEx query Content

Hi Friends

We are currently using BW 7.4 & BO 4.1

Issue/Scenario-

  We have designed Web Intelligence Reports on Top of BW-BEx queries   and are running fine.

  Say in BW We have already defined 10 users and these users are accessing   BO Applications using SAP Login user Name only

Requirement to be implement

  Currently Our requirement is to create a new set of 10 Users in BO-Server

  and grant access to these BW-Report Folders & Grant access to create new BO Reports based on  these BW-Based BEX Queries

Hi,

is SSO  enabled in the BICS connections?

one option is to create 10 users in BO and add the alias of existing SAP users to newly created users in BO environment.With this newly created users can create/refresh the reports based on the BW roles are assigned to existing users.

or similar create 10 new users in BW system also and import in BO. Assign as alias to newly created BO users.

can these 10 newly created users in BO-Server can use "Enterprise" Authentication

& login using BO_Serve based "PASSWORDS" even after Implementing "Alias"?

Following scenario can be done for this Requirement:-

1.IF these users are present in BW import in BO and then all rights and roles will be intact you will not require SSO to make it work. it will automatically work for SSO and even for non SSO.

login in BO with SAP user and everything will work.

2.Create 10 Enterprise user and assign SAP Alias and then set prompt,and pre defined option while creating the connection and it will work.

3.Create 10 Enterprise user and assign SAP Alias and then Set SSO and create connection and configure STS to make it work.

once STS is configured these user can login with Enterprise ID and enterprise password and still everything will work.

Hi,

These 10 newly created enterprise users  can create/run the reports once you manually assign the  alias of sap users to  these users.

For each user you need to right click ->properties->assign alias->select the  sap user.

BTW I want to know the BW Role for any of the BO user created using Alias concept(Aliasing on BW Imported User)

Hi Bose,

You can go to Authentication -> SAP. There you can see which BW role is being used for importing users from BW to BO.
