Organization structure: One storage location each for good receipt and good issue?

Hello all,

In EWM organization structure, is it mandatory to have one storage location each for receiving goods (ROD1) and goods issue (AFS1)?

Or one storage location can serve both for goods receipt and goods issue?

Regards,

Chaitanya

Hi Chaitanya,

It is not mandatory, you can have only one location for GR and GI, it is all up to how you map your stock type to storage location.

Hello Vic,

Thanks for your reply.

Can you please elaborate on how and why to map stock type and storage location?

Is there any configuration?

What is relation between stock type and storage location?

Why they need to be mapped to each other in first place?

Regards,

Chaitanya

Hi Chitanya,

You can go to SPRO,

Interfaces->ERP intergration->Map storage location from ERP system to EWM, you are mapping availablity group to storage locaiton

and under GR process->Configure Avaialbity group for putaway, you are assign stock type to availabiety group.

Based on those two setting, you can design how to map your storage location.
