formula for number increment

Hi everyone,

I just started my programing language schooling as a refreshment.

but I badly needed to create a string number.

example:

1     joel

2     jhen

3     mhike

4     benny

.

.

.

so on.

I have an idea but, it don't know where to start.

I need the incrementing number in the first column.

Can anybody help me with this simple (that is for you ) problem

Hi Florencio,

If the Name field is placed on the Details Section, you don't need any kind of programming/formula to display record number.

Expand the Field Explorer > Special Fields > Drag and drop the 'Record Number' field on the details section.
