Hi,
what is merge priority and sort priority in sap portal
In your question only you have answers
Merge priority: - it’s nothing but we will merge the two different roles with same name (whenever we create any roles. It saves the using roleID under PCD. So two roles are having same Name with different roleID’ s). Both nodes then appear as one entry in the top-level or detailed navigation
For example:
Sort priority:-
You can define the display sequence of the nodes comprising the various levels of the navigation hierarchy by prioritizing the items on a per level basis.
You define priorities by assigning a value between 0(means display in starting)1(2nd) and 100 to each item. Values may include decimal numbers.
The smaller the value of the navigation node, the further left it displays on the navigation bar, or the higher up it displays in detailed navigation. The item with the lowest value appears to the far left or the top, respectively, and the others follow in the order of their priorities.

Hi,
Those properties are used for the navigation structure at runtime in the portal.
You can read more about it in the following documentation:
Merging Navigation Nodes and Defining the Sequence - Portal - SAP Library
Basically the role is structured with navigation nodes. each PCD object in the role is considered a node. You can use those properties in order to merge two nodes into one in the navigation structure, and sort them (which one comes first).
Thanks & regards,
Michal
