Hi,

I am trying to install SAP Business Objects 4.1 SP1 in Linux Red Hat 6.7 (Santiago), but when I run the installer, I have the next error:

Check Prerequisites

Summary of any missing critical or optional prerequisites.

Failed: Operating system patch level (Critical)

          Information: Missing patch: libXext-devel-1.1-3.el6.i686

Missing patch: libXext-devel-1.1-3.el6.x86_64

Has anyone had the same problem?, What I can do to correct it?

Regards.

Hi Leonardo,

One step resolution can be found on  1997565 - Error: "Failed: Operating system patch level (Critical)" while installing SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence 4.1 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4

Note : above KBA can be used for your operating system as it is minor upgraded version.

If you are unsure of installing it ask your Linux admin to install 2 libraries :

  • libXext-devel-1.1-3.el6.i686
  • libXext-devel-1.1-3.el6.x86_64

After that you as a perk you can use this link to install the product step by step with screenshots : http://scn.sap.com/community/bi-platform/blog/2013/11/06/installing-sap-bi-41-sp01-on-red-hat-enterp...

Hope this will help you to resolve the issue and to install it too.
