Current Date from Server

We would like to validate the date entered by the user with the server date (as the date on the PC can be changed by the user). Is there a standard service / entity type provided by GW framework that can be re-used ? Wanted to avoid creating a custom one.

Or any other utility that the community might have used.

We created a function import and used it. Couldnt find a standard SAP service for our requirement.

you can use system fields,

for date; sy-datum

for time : sy-uzeit

Yup, but to be provided as a service / entity type for use in front end!!!

i am not sure that there is a service that you can use but why you are writing your own service that return the current date.

I can write own service and just did that but this might be a pretty common thing that the framework can provide

As far as i know there is no common service that you can use.
