Is there a limit to the number of customer hierarchy types in ECC 6?

In our current ECC 6 we have customer hierarchies A to E.  Now there is a request for a new customer hierarchy.  Is there a limit to the number of customer hierarchies?

Hi,

as far as I know hierarchies can be up to 26 Levels. Technical limited because of data element HITYP_KH type is CHAR 1.

I'm not asking about the levels within the hierarchy.  I am asking about the number of unique hierarchies.  Can I have hierarchies A, B, C, ... P, Q, R?

Excuse my ambiguos answers. Yes, you can setup up to 26 unique hierarchies as desribed in your last post.

As Michael pointed out, it's an alphanumeric field, 1 character long. So whatever you can fit in there (this includes all possible letters, numbers and special symbols allowed in SAP) that's how many unique values you could have.

This question can be easily answered just by looking at the corresponding field. Just use F1 -> technical data and then look it up in the dictionary. Ask an ABAPer for help if needed.
