Hi
We get this error from time to time and its an nightmare to fix.
"The iView has timed out. There is no cached content to display. Click 'Reload' to retrieve updated content. You may need to wait for the cache to retrieve the content from the source. Reload"
Is there any other way to fix this other than restarting the server or removing the iview from the page and then adding it again.
Setting the "Cache Validity Period","Cache Level" and "Allow Client-Side Caching" properties has no effect on it once it has reached this state.
Any help would be apreciated and rewarded.

1. Goto Portal Catalogue -> Content Provided by SAP -> End User Content -> Standard Portal users
2. Right click on 'Default Framework Page' open --> object
3. Select 'Desktop InnerPage' and edit it(drag the horizontal scroll to right side )
4. select show all in the category drop down and go down in the property page where you can see Page Timeout Set the value for "Page Timeout" and click on save in the top
Increase the above "Page Timeout" value and it should help.
Or otherwise directly go the properties of the Page (to which ur iView is added) and edit the "Page Timeout" value.

did you find a solution to the problem other than restarting anything (server node, irj, etc.)?
Did you find any official SAP notes regarding this?
We are having the same issue here and any help would be really appreciated.

This problem could be because of server node sync issue.
you can test this by using
http://<host>:<port>/irj/portal;sapj2ee_irj=<server node>
if you are not getting error for some server node then engine restart may fix this issue. if still error then server node is having sync issue. check out sap notes for that.
